RMW Web Publishing Newsletter

Hello and welcome to the new RMW Web Publishing Newsletter. It's been a while since we've updated you on our latest news and developments, so let us update you now.

New Team Member

Rob Melville started in our office last week as a Web Developer. Rob will be responsible for taking designs and turning them into functional webpages. Currently Rob is creating a booking system for a new sports marketing company, Meridian Corporate. Don't be surprised if you hear from Rob in your contact with us.

Rowan on Holidays

From the 29th of June to the 10th of July, Rowan, Peta and daughter Maggie will be taking a break in the outback. Flying to Alice Springs then driving to Darwin, visiting Kakadu and Ayers Rock on the way is something they have wanted to do for a long time.

Accounting issues will not be handled during this time but please continue to send though any website change requests.

Mobile Web

Last Tuesday (3am Sydney time) was the Apple World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) where some big announcements were made about the iPhone. The iPhone is only one of a growing number of smart phones that allow users to browse websites from their phone.

At RMW Web Publishing all new sites we design are tested on the iPhone to make sure they display well and are usable. We are able to single out small screen devices and make visual modifications (like making links bigger) so it's easier to use your site while on-the-go. The new RMW Web Publishing site displays a totally different page when viewed on a phone, with buttons to call, SMS or email us, along with a map link to our office. Does your site need a tune-up for this rapidly growing market? Just let us know.

Tip: Reminders

While our All-in-1 Online Business solution clients know the benefits of keeping track of customer interactions with your website, it's also a great way to keep track of your interactions with customers.

By using All-in-1 in the Customers section you can set reminders for yourself and attach them to an individual or business contact.

  1. Login to your site's Admin section
  2. Go to the Customers tab
  3. Use Search to find the customer
  4. When viewing the contact details, choose Note, Task, Call or Meeting from the Tasks menu
  5. Give your task a subject and fill in any other details
  6. Check the Remind? option
  7. Now set the Date and Time you want an email reminder sent
  8. Click Save

At the specified time you will be sent an email with the details of the task. What's cool is that the email has "Snooze" links allowing you to postpone the task and remind you again in 15 mins, 30mins, 1 hour, etc. Great for when you're in the middle of something but don't want to forget about following up your task.

Upcoming Marketing Dates

Whether writing a blog post, sending a newsletter or creating a discount on your online store, you will get better results if you can make a connection to your reader. Something many people have in common are holidays and other occasions. Use these as a starting point for your marketing material.
